Not everyone is able to get involved in helping those that are HIV/AIDS infected in the same way. On this page we would like to present different ways that you can get involved in reaching out to those in need.  For example:

Pray for Us:  The most important thing you can do for someone with HIV/AIDS, at home and abroad, is to pray.  We need Churches to begin to get involved with this issue for the people who sit in their pews week after week with no one with whom they can talk or pray with.  Pray that the Church would rise up and bring hope and healing to people who are isolated and afraid.
James 5:16

Donations:  The Central Florida Haven of Hope Ministries has been providing effective services to those in the Community for over eighteen years.  Because of many governmental cutbacks and the slowing economy we are in need of donations to assist with the overall operation of the agency.  This assistance would also go toward our food pantry and to assist us in developing new programs to reach into the Community.  As a not for profit 501 (c)3 organization, all donations are tax deductable.

Time:  For those that have a heart to assist in a greater way and would like to donate time in assisting those with HIV/AIDS, but for some reason can not do this in your local church, please contact our office.  Our volunteer program is in need of Buddies, and support people to assist those in the Community.

New Programs

New programs are being developed all of the time to assist those that are infected with HIV/AIDS, and  to educate those in the Community who have a desire to reach out but don't know where to start.

Classes
Classes are being held at our agency.  The second Thursday of every month, a two hour class designed to teach all who have a desire to be involved in Christian, HIV/AIDS outreach, will be held from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.  It is mandatory to register for this free class.

Education
It is so important for you to become educated about HIV/AIDS and to encourage others to do the same.  It is through education that we can begin to stop the flood of new infections and also dispel the fear that surrounds HIV/AIDS. Fear causes so many not to get the care and support that is needed.  One of the recourses in the Community is the Local Health Department, which holds monthly classes. This Web Site is being designed to educate the Community and it is our desire that it will be helpful to you.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via our email.

Talk to the Leadership of your Church
If you have a heart for this kind of Ministry, we would like to help you get started.  We guarantee that every state in the Nation has people who are Affected by this disease and it's up to us, (all of us), to make a difference in the lives of others.  Galatians 6:2 "Carry each others burdens and fulfill the law of Christ."  It's time.  One of the goals of the Haven of Hope is to see the Church change their minds about AIDS; to see it as an opportunity for the Gospel.  You are encouraged to let your Church know that anonymous outreach is available to those in the Church that are infected or affected with HIV/AIDS.  The response to this will help you determine what is needed in your local body of believers.  The Haven of Hope wants to assist you and it is our plan to have forms that you can just download at no charge, as you need them.  For example, "The Laws on Confidentiality," "Release of Information" forms, 'Death and Dying," "Being a Buddy," "Staying Within the Leadership's Guidelines,"  "What Do I Talk About."  "When a Friend has HIV/AIDS, and more.

Food and Clothing Pantry
With the war, gas prices and the economy, we know that everyone is struggling.  Food is no longer considered essential to the government funded organizations and money is going towards medication and health care. There is a great need among those that are HIV/AIDS infected for the basics such as food and clothing.  Meeting the practical needs of those that you wish to serve will be following the example of Christ as He  gave one of the most memorable sermons AFTER He fed the 5,000.  If you feed someone who is hungry, they're more likely to listen to what you have to say about Jesus.

Be A Friend
Sometimes, what we need most in our lives is a friend that will listen to us and give us the non judgmental and confidential support that we need.  Learn to be a friend to someone who has no friends.  Pray with them and don't be afraid.  They are just like us in every way; except they have a virus.  They are special, just like you are.

Why Should I Become Educated About HIV/AIDS?
Because I guarantee that there are people in Your congregation right now that are either infected or affected by this disease.  My heart goes out more to those who are Affected because at some point, the person with this disease gets to "acceptance," accepting their own mortality, or continue in the behavior and die quickly.  Be prepared and I believe that God will put someone, who needs to hear the "Good News" and would welcome the prayer and support.

Hosea 4:6 says, "My people perish for a lack of knowledge."

Proverbs 11:30 "He who wins souls is wise."
